What is Translation?

We think of translation as the written transfer and conveyance of a text from one language into another.

The term language can be interpreted very broadly: as language in a narrower sense, for example English or Chinese, as a sign system (image, text), as a linguistic stage (Middle English, Modern English) and as linguistic variants (dialects or regional language varieties, for example European and Brazilian Portuguese).

Which Types of Translation We Offer

We specialise above all in interlingual and intralingual translations, that is, translations between different languages, linguistic stages and variants. We can, however, offer you other translation services upon request.

For us, the conveyance of a text does not mean a word-for-word reproduction of a text in the words of another language, but rather the transmission of the correct substance, adapted to the peculiarities of the other culture. Should large-scale changes to the text be needed, then we are also talking about adaptation.

The exception would be the case in which you explicitly want a word-for-word translation. We also, of course, gladly offer such an interlinear translation.
