What is Text Production?

We think of text production as an umbrella term for all services involving the writing of texts according to your order. In day-to-day life, one often also hears the expression “to have texts written”.

Naturally, our writers use your specifications as a guide for their work. That means we take into account the type of text, the purpose, the recipients, the place of publication, the desired content, your drafts and notes, your stylistic wishes and all other aspects that you ask us to keep in mind.

We write texts in many languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian etc. We also gladly take on the translation and adaptation of texts.

What Types of Text Production are There

Among others, one differentiates between the following types of text production:

  • Ghost-writing: This term means that we write the text in your name, without naming the actual author (the ghost-writer). The terms ghost-writer and writer are often used synonymously. More >>
  • Speech writing: The speech writer drafts speeches, presentations, performances, lectures and all forms of orally recited texts in a broader sense. More >>
  • Copywriting: Copywriters are better known as ad writers. It involves the skilful writing of advertising texts in all possible forms: ads, product descriptions, brochures, websites, slogans etc. More >>
  • Rewriting: The rewriter rewrites already existing texts, for example in order to optimise or simplify them stylistically. Website texts often need to be reworded for SEO reasons, in order to be able to present similar information on different websites or subsites without causing the search machine to devalue the site. More >>
  • Adaptation: Text adaptation can also be interpreted as a form of rewriting. It involves adjusting a text to a new medium (for example print <–> Internet) or a new audience (for example expert audience <–> broader general public).
  • SEO text production, SEO ghost-writing: SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. In this case, in addition to the normal considerations for a commission, the writer or ghost-writer also has to write the texts so that they get as good a place as possible in search results (a good ranking, as the SEO pros say).
  • Text supplementation: With text supplementation, a text that has already been started is continued, or passages are added in the middle. The continuation can, depending on the goals, be a form of text production or text optimisation.
  • Text shortening: Text shortening is the counterpart to text supplementation. Texts often need to be shortened for space reasons. Sometimes you need to pull out the red pen just for simplification and improvement of readability.
  • Text simplification: Changing complicated words into understandable ones—that is the point of text simplification. It could involve, for example, challenging technical texts that need to be popularised. Text simplification can also be a form of stylistic re-working in case, for example, the text has become needlessly complicated.
  • Other forms of text optimisation: From basic spelling checks to thorough substantive editing, from simple proof-reading to the continuation of texts: there is a whole host of other methods for rewriting and optimising a text.
